Greg Bertsch, founder of AMI, has formed partnerships with the University of South Dakota that provide a strong technical basis for achieving commercial success. In addition, Mr. Bertsch is currently an accepted Ph. D. candidate in the USD Biomedical Engineering Department and is actively involved in antimicrobial research. In addition, a competent business team has been assembled to manage the financial success of the organization.
Mr. Bertsch is a nontraditional Ph. D. candidate with years of executive experience in the automotive industry. Prior to establishing AMI, Mr. Bertsch served for 6 years as director of Business Development for Adams Thermal Systems in Canton, SD. Over the course of his tenure, he led the sales team, program management team, and quality assurance team. Prior to joining Adams Thermal Systems, Mr. Bertsch was an international program manager for Behr America, worked at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, and completed an internship at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Mr. Bertsch currently holds a Masters degree in mechanical engineering, and anticipates receiving his PhD in biomedical engineering from USD in 2015. Mr. Bertsch is well suited for his CEO duties at AMI due to his multifaceted skill set in business development, mechanical and biomedical engineering, lean manufacturing, and business leadership.
